An unintended and positive consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic has been the effective and successful transition to virtual mediations. Since March 2020, mediator Jim Nulman has conducted more than 350 virtual mediations using Zoom. These mediations range from two-party disputes to complex mediations involving as many as 95 participants.
Unless a specific request is made, all mediations conducted by Nulman Mediation Services will continue to be held virtually, via Zoom. In certain circumstances, in-person mediations will be considered on a case-by-case basis and based on location and scheduling availability.
The benefits of virtual mediations are two-fold: a reduction in the cost of mediation due to the elimination of travel expenses, and time saved for attorneys and their clients, and adjusters, who can participate from their own homes and offices.
