As the country emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic, Nulman Mediation Services will continue to offer virtual mediations using Zoom videoconferencing technology.
An unintended and positive consequence of the pandemic has been the effective transition to conducting mediations virtually. During the 14-month span of March 2020 – May 2021, mediator Jim Nulman conducted more than 200 mediations using Zoom. These mediations ranged from two-party disputes to complex mediations involving 70-80 participations.
Unless a specific request is made, all mediations conducted by Nulman Mediation Services through September 2021 will be held on Zoom. Beginning October 1, 2021, mediations will be conducted via Zoom or in-person, based on requests and discussions between the parties and the mediator.
The benefits of virtual mediations are two-fold: a reduction in the cost of mediation due to the elimination of travel expenses, and time saved for attorneys and their clients, and adjusters, who can participate from their own homes and offices.
